Gauteng Premier mobilises support for the Black Stars of Ghana

As part of the Gauteng provincial government's commitment to support the Ghanaian national team, Premier Nomvula Mokonyane will tomorrow, on Friday, 2 July, visit Yeoville to encourage the local residents to stand behind the team ahead of their quarterfinal match against Uruguay.

The Black Stars, as the Ghanaian team is popularly known, is the only remaining African team in the world cup. In the context of the African Cup, the province is utilising its resources and communities to ensure that the continent is fully behind the African hope.

Following her visit to Yeoville, the premier will later host a reception for the Ghanaian Ambassador, His Excellency Lee Ocran, at the Gauteng Craft and Design Centre in Sandton, where they'll watch the Brazil and Nederland quarterfinal encounter and later the Ghana and Uruguay game.
