Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will on Thursday,
18 March address a media briefing to announce details of the proposed launch of the National Population Registration campaign scheduled for Tuesday, 23 March in Umtata.
The National Population Registration campaign, launched under the theme “2010 the Year of Action to speed up delivery services to the people” will be launched by President Jacob Zuma and Minister Dlamini Zuma while other speakers will include Eastern Cape Premier Noxolo Kiviet and Eastern Cape Human Settlement MEC, Nombulelo Mabandla
The campaign is aimed at building a single point of entry to a secure and a credible national population register by registering all undocumented citizens while eliminating the late registration of births processes by the end of 2010.
