Statement on the death of a South African in Afghanistan

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation confirms that it has been advised of the death of a South African citizen in Afghanistan. The deceased was killed, today, Thursday 11 March 2010.
The name of the deceased cannot be released to the public. The Department of International Relations and Cooperation is in touch with the employer regarding consular assistance to the family. The government extends its heartfelt condolences to members of the bereaved family.
