Minister in the Presidency to address the National Gender Machinery meeting

The Minister in the Presidency Dr Manto Tshabalala-Msimang will on Monday, 4 May 2009, address the National Gender Machinery meeting and give a report back from the 53rd Session of the United Nation (UN) Commission on the Status of Women 2009.
The commission holds a two weeks conference in New York annually with the primary objective of assessing progress on women empowerment issues. The Minister led a South African delegation to New York earlier this year.
The report captures issues that emerged during deliberations including recommendations for member states and explore the implications for South Africa.
