Minister in the Presidency to attend a memorial service in honour of the late Minister of Communications in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal province

The Minister in the Presidency Manto Tshabalala-Msimang will tomorrow, 2 May 2009, attend a memorial service in honour of the late Minister of Communications Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri organised by the Nkunkumathe community in Nkandla, KwaZulu Natal province.

The community of Nkunkumathe was adopted by the Minister in the Presidency and the late Minister of Communications in 2004. The community felt it proper to organise a memorial service in honour of the late Minister since they could not attend the official funeral.

The Minister will also hand over farming apparatus to this community including a tractor, three Utility Vans and agricultural nets to cover their crops. The Minister will be accompanied by her husband, Mendi Msimang former treasure general of the ANC and the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Elizabeth Thabethe.
