A new paradigm for the events and technical services industry

29 April 2009

The Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture, Ms Ntombazana Botha invites media to a hand over ceremony of a report on the events and technical services industry. The events and technical services sector is one of the important industries of the South African economy.

Having noted the economic potential of the industry, the Department of Arts and Culture commissioned the Events and Technical Services Industry Task Team in 2005 to conduct a feasibility study to understand the dynamics, value, size and scope of the industry. The Events and Technical Services Industry Task Team will present a report of the study to Deputy Minister Botha on 30 April 2009. The report will chart a new paradigm for the industry which historically has been dominated by a network of few companies.

The hand over ceremony will take place as follows:
Date: Thursday, 30 April 2009
Time: 14h00
Venue: Premier Hotel, 573 Church Street, Arcadia, Pretoria
