Department of Land Affairs on restoration of land to the Covey community

The Minister of Land Affairs, Ms Lulama Xingwana and the Acting Chief Land Claims Commissioner, Mr Andrew Mphela, cordially invite you to the official restoration of land to the Covey Community in the Eden District Municipality on Monday, 13 April 2009. During the event, 765 hectares of land will be officially handed over to the 411 households from the claimant community. As part of the event, members of the media will have an opportunity to be briefed on developments regarding the Covey land claim. The event will take place as follows:

Venue: Plettenberg Bay
The Covey land hand over ceremony will be preceded by the Lamberts Bay ceremony on 11 April 2009.
