Minister Dlamini Zuma arrives in Copenhagen ahead of Nordic–Africa Foreign Ministers meeting

Copenhagen: South African Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma arrived on Tuesday in Denmark ahead of the eighth Informal Session of the Nordic-Africa Foreign Ministers meeting scheduled for 11 to 12 March 2009 in Copenhagen.
The Nordic-Africa Foreign Ministers Meeting is expected to discuss amongst others:
* peace and security in Africa focussing on Zimbabwe, Somalia and Sudan
* climate change and security in Africa
* African peer review mechanism
* the Durban Review of the United Nations (UN) World Conference against racism, xenophobia and related intolerances
* and the role of theAfrican Union (AU) in establishing effective mechanism for promoting good governance and Democratic Institutions
Minister Dlamini Zuma is on a four European nation visit within the context of consolidating bilateral political and economic relations and advancing the consolidation of the African Agenda while strengthening North-South co-operation.
Minister Dlamini Zuma is supported on the visit to Denmark by Foreign Affairs Director-General, Dr Ayanda Ntsaluba, South Africa's Ambassador to Denmark, Dolana Msimang and senior government officials.
During the visit to Denmark, Minister Dlamini Zuma will on the margins of the Nordic-Africa Foreign Ministers Meeting hold bilateral discussions with amongst others the Norwegian Foreign Minister, Minister JG Store.
The Nordic-Africa Foreign Ministers meeting will be attended by Foreign Ministers of South Africa, Benin, Botswana, Ghana, Lesotho, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
