Education Minister Naledi Pandor to address the Eastern Cape Provincial Education Summit

The Minister of Education, Naledi Pandor, will on Friday, 13 March 2009 at 08h00 address the Eastern Cape Provincial Education Summit, to be held at the Sterling Education Leadership Institute in East London, Eastern Cape.
The theme of the summit is: A plan of action to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the Eastern Cape.
Its objectives are to:
* Improve the quality of teaching and learning in all schools in the Eastern Cape.
* Enhance leadership and management at all levels of the provincial education system.
* Improve the service delivery model to support quality teaching and learning in the province.
* Develop an achievable provincial education resourcing strategy for equity and redress in the economic climate.
* Mobilise provincial stakeholders for strategic partnerships in Education.
* Improve quality of teaching and learning in the Further Education and Training (FET) colleges and Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) centres in the Eastern Cape.
