Minister of Defence, Mr Charles Nqakula to address the First International Military Chief of Chaplains Conference

History will be made on Monday, 2 February 2009, when military chaplains from all corners of the globe meet in Cape Town, South Africa for the first International Military Chief of Chaplains Conference.
This ground breaking conference is being hosted by the Chaplain General Division of the South African National Defence Force from 1 to 6 February 2009 at the Southern Sun, Cape Sun.
The conference will focus on the importance of reconciliation and healing in post-conflict reconstruction. The Minister of Defence, Mr Charles Nqakula, will open the conference. This is to be followed by a keynote address by special guest speaker Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.
A media conference has been scheduled immediately following the opening address by the Minister of Defence. The media conference will be hosted by the Minister of Defence and the Chaplain General of the South African National Defence Force, Brigadier General (Reverend) Marius Cornelissen.
