KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Education Mrs Ina Cronjé to monitor state of readiness during first three days of school

More than 6 000 schools in KwaZulu-Natal will re-open on Wednesday, 21 January 2009. This will mark the first day of the 2009 school calendar and the MEC for Education Mrs Ina Cronjé is set to go on unannounced visits to some schools around the province as part of monitoring and ensuring that teaching and learning starts on the first day of school. The three day visits will start on Wednesday, 21 January and the MEC Cronjé will be accompanied by Dr Zweli Mkhize, MEC for Finance and Economic Development. Premier Sibusiso Ndebele and His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini are also expected to join MEC Cronjé and MEC Mkhize on the visit to monitor the state of readiness on the first day of school.
