The department awards bursaries annually as part of its continued effort to address acute shortage of health professionals in the province. We offer bursaries in all health related studies such as pharmacy, medicine, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, clinical psychology, speech and hearing therapy, nutrition and bachelor of nursing.
We had over 600 students in the province that we had allocated bursaries in 2008 academic year including 40 that we had sent to Cuba to study medicine and intend to increase the number going forward. Applications are normally opened between June to end of September each year for the following academic year.
Please note that only students who have applied are requested to submit these documents.
