President Kgalema Motlanthe appoints Justice Edwin Cameron as Judge of the Constitutional Court

In terms of section 174 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, President Kgalema Motlanthe has appointed Justice Edwin Cameron as a Judge of the Constitutional Court.
The appointment was made after consultation with the Chief Justice and the Leaders of parties represented in the National Assembly. The appointment is with effect from 1 January 2009, on an existing vacancy.
