President Motlanthe extends condolences on death of Guinea Conakry President

Pretoria: South African President Kgalema Motlanthe today, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 extended the deepest condolences of the South African government and people to the government and people of Guinea Conakry on the death of President Lasante Conte who passed away earlier today.
In a statement of condolence to the government and people of Guinea Conakry, and in particular the family of the late President, President Motlanthe said, “Please accept the deepest condolences of the government and people of South Africa government following the death of President Conte earlier today.”
“It is with great sadness that this season of joy and celebration should be marked by the death of President Conte.”
“The people of South Africa indeed join the rest of the Continent of Africa in mourning the death of the late President Conte,” concluded President Motlanthe.
