Programme on 16 Days of Activism on No Violence against Women And Children Continues

Mpumalanga Safety and Security MEC, Mr Siphosezwe Masango, is still continuing with the 16 Days of Activism on No Violence against Women and Children.
MEC Masango will lead a Claim back the Night campaign on Monday, 8 December 2008 in Rooikopen in Lekwa Municipality.
The aim of the campaign is to claim back the streets of Rooikopen where community members cannot walk at night anymore because of fear of becoming victims of crime. People around the area will support the campaign by marching through the streets of Rooikopen settlement wearing white ribbon symbol, holding torches reflecting solidarity to the campaign.
MEC Masango will launch Mpumalanga Men for Change Structure at Accornhoek on 9 December 2008, and the purpose of the structure is primarily meant to mobilise men to become partners in the fight against women and child abuse.
Lastly, MEC Masango will address a closing ceremony of 16 Days of Activism on Violence against Women and Children at Ga Maria in Dr J S Moroka Municipality on Wednesday, 10 December 2008.
