Transport MEC Vilakazi and Premier Molewa to commemorate International Human Rights Day.

North West Premier Edna Molewa and her MECs will commemorate the International Human Rights Day at Mathopestad Village in Bojanala district on the 10 December 2008.

The commemoration of Human Rights Day is a closing ceremony to mark the end of 16 Days of Activism campaign for No Violence against Women and Children which started on 25 November.

The campaign is reinforced by a yearlong 365 days and it seeks to empower communities with information on the prevention of gender violence, increase the level of public awareness and understanding of human rights.

Executive mayors, mayors, traditional leaders, representatives of Human Rights Commission, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and religious groups will also attend the event. The renowned gospel singer, Deborah Fraser and other musical groups will entertain the audience.

The theme for this year is, "Don't look away, act against abuse."
