The Gauteng Department of Health will tomorrow, 5 December 2008, host a conference on 16 Days of Activism against gender based violence campaign at Mogale City, West Rand.
The focus of this year's campaign is to strengthen and nurture strategic partnerships between the government and the community organisations especially the youth structures. In this conference the youth will debate and share information regarding gender based violence.
The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness on the adverse impact that gender based violence has on women and children, to encourage de-stigmatisation and acceptance of victims by communities as well as to smoothen and aid the road to recovery from victim to survivor.
