26 November 2008
Efforts of building a caring, belonging, and serving government will play themselves out at this year's 16 Days of Activism of Non Violence against Women and Children. The Mpumalanga Department of Housing will hand over houses to orphan's headed households at Mammethlake in the Dr JS Moroka Municipality. This year's campaign will be taken to the rural areas which are often neglected.
The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children is a United Nations campaign that takes place annually from the 25 November to 10 December. Since 1999 the South African Government has run a parallel campaign that includes issues relating to violence against children. This campaign focuses primarily on generating an increased awareness of the negative impact of violence on women and children as well as society.

This office in conjunction with the Office of the MEC have decided that this year campaign be taken to Mammethlake, in the district of Moretele.
