Premier Molewa to launch 16 Days of Activism of No Violence against Women and Children

North West Premier Edna Molewa will launch the 16 Days of Activism Campaign of No Violence against Women and Children on 25 November 2008, at Lengwaneng village in Taung. The event will take place at the local Reemekathata Secondary school's sports ground.
The aim of the campaign, which is held from 25 November to 10 December every year, is to empower communities with information on the prevention and appropriate responses to gender violence and to reduce vulnerability to child headed households through provision of services.
Transport, Roads and Community Safety MEC Phenye Vilakazi and other MECs, traditional leaders, non-governmental organisation (NGOs) and mayors will attend the event. The renowned gospel singer, Mzet, and other musical groups will entertain the audience.
The theme for this year is, "don't look away, act against abuse."
