Minister Baloyi holds first meeting with SITA board and management
9 November 2008
The Minister for the Public Service and Administration, Mr Richard Baloyi met with the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) board and management in Pretoria on 6 November 2008, to look at the current state and the future of SITA.
This meeting was convened by Mr Baloyi to discuss the functioning of SITA as it moves forward under his leadership. It was the first meeting to give SITA leaderships and top management the opportunity to engage with Mr Baloyi on some of the key issues that need to be addressed in order SITA to evolve and be transformed into the "Information and communications technology (ICT) service provider of choice for the public sector".
The outcome was that certain challenges were identified and strategies to address these are being developed as SITA recognises the need to shape and define the road ahead in order to address the ICT needs of the Public Service in support of government's developmental agenda.
The meeting provided SITA leadership and management a clear idea of the Minister's approach and expectations from all at SITA as well as his entire portfolio.
