President to register for the 2009 general elections

President Kgalema Motlanthe will on Saturday, 8 November 2008, register for the 2009 general elections at the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) voting station, Hatfield.
This occasion is in line the call by the IEC that South Africans who are not registered to vote in next year's general elections, must to do so on the weekend of 08 to 09 November 2008, between the times of 8h00 to 17h00.
Currently, there are over 20 million registered voters on the South Africa's national voter's roll, together with 137 registered political parties.

President to attend the celebration of Mama Albertina Sisulu's 90th birthday
President Kgalema Motlanthe will later, on Saturday at 12h30, 8 November 2008, attend the celebration of Mama Albertina Sisulu's 90th birthday at the Sisulu Hall, in Randburg. Mama Albertina Sisulu is one of our best known heroines and a veteran of the African National Congress (ANC).
Mama Sisulu became a living symbol representing the crucial role that women play. She is honoured, by her people as one of the 'Mothers of the Nation'.
