Ministers of Correctional Services, Education and Home Affairs to hold two day Imbizo at Amajuba District in KwaZulu-Natal, 24–25 October 2008

The Ministers of Correctional Services, Ngconde Balfour, Education, Naledi Pandor and Home Affairs, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula will on Friday, 24 and Saturday, 25 October 2008, visit the Amajuba District in KwaZulu-Natal as part of Government's Imbizo Focus Week.
During Imbizo week, government leaders from all three spheres of government embark on various activities to intensify direct interaction with communities across the country.
The first day of Imbizo, which is Friday, 24 October 2008, will see the three ministers paying visits to some schools and youth correctional centres at Amajuba District as well as meeting with government stakeholders.
The highlight of this day will be a visit to Amajuba Combined School where the ministers will hand over computers to the school followed by a visit to Ekuseni Youth Correctional Centre.
On the second day, they will conduct a door to door visit at Osizweni Township and its surrounding areas. The Imbizo, where members of the community will get the chance to interact with the ministers and other government leaders, is scheduled for 12h00 at Sesiyabonga High School, Osizweni, Newscastle.
Government services, such as identity document, death and birth certificates, pension and social grants applications will be done during the Imbizo day.
Other dignitaries expected to attend are the KwaZulu-Natal provincial government leadership, including Education MEC, Ms Ina Cronje.
