The RSA/Botswana Joint Permanent Commission on Defence and Security focus on the preparations of 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament

The safety and security issues relating to the hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Soccer Tournament to be hosted in South Africa is amongst critical items on the agenda of the four-day eighth Joint Permanent Commission on Defence and Security (JPCDS).
The Honourable Minister of Defence, Charles Nqakula will tomorrow, 24 October 2008 lead the South African delegation at the ministerial session of the JPCDS.
The South African delegation comprises of the Ministers of Home Affairs, Honourable Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, Correctional Services, Honourable Ngconde Balfour, Intelligence, Honourable Dr Siyabonga Cwele, Justice and Constitutional Development, Honourable Enver Surty, Safety and Security, Honourable Nathi Mthethwa, Deputy Ministers of Defence, Honourable Fezile Bhengu, Correctional Services, Honourable Lorretta Jacobus and senior government officials.
The delegation of the Republic of Botswana will be led by Minister for Defence, Justice and Security, Honourable Dikgakgamatso Seretse, and consist of the Minister of Home Affairs Honourable Peter Siele, and senior government officials.
Today the commission entered its second and last day of the senior official preparatory meeting, paving the way for the ministerial session tomorrow, Friday, 24 October 2008.
