Media advisory: Imbizo to celebrate progress of the Khayelitsha Rail Extension Project

The honourable Minister of Transport, Mr Jeff Radebe in collaboration with the Western Cape MEC for Transport and Public Works, Ms Kholeka Mqulwana and South African Rail Commuter Corporation (SARCC) CEO, Mr Tshepo Montana, invite a representative of your publication/radio/television station to an Imbizo to celebrate progress of the Khayelitsha Rail Extension Project.

Brief background:
The Khayelitsha Line Extension (KLE) was commissioned in the early 1990's and the sod turning ceremony held in October 2006. Upon completion (estimated to be early 2009), it will provide mobility to an additional 20 000 Khayelitsha residents.

Directions to the venue from the N2

Travel on the N2 from Cape Town, take M32 Spine Road exit. Turn right on the bridge into Spine Road. Continue travelling past the traffic circle until you reach the first set of traffic lights. Turn left into Lansdowne Road (Metro Cash 'n Carry to your left).

Continue further along the road and turn right into Lindela Street. Continue until you reach Walter Sisulu Road on the right. Kuyasa Train Station will be on your left.
