Members of the media are cordially invited to a press briefing, where the MEC for Agriculture Gugile Nkwinti and Head of Department (HOD) will report back to the media about the successes and challenges of the Green Revolution Strategy.

The department will present the media with an impact assessment report complied using the Mbashe area where the strategy, which includes Siyazondla, Siyakhula and massive food programmes was launched.

The rationale behind the strategy is to defeat and overcome underdevelopment, poverty and unemployment in the rural and peri-rural areas. Among the spin offs is job creation and Siyazondla has became the highest contributor to Mbashe's local sources of income and it has had positive impact that is shown by the happiness of the people.

The press briefing will also allow members of the media to interact with the MEC on other issues like livestock improvement, fencing, revamption of irrigation schemes, provision of tractors and implements.
