Gauteng Premier concerned about alleged irregularities in Soweto hospital construction
15 September 2008
The Premier of Gauteng, Mbhazima Shilowa, has taken note of recent news stories alleging irregularities in tenders relating to the construction of Jabulani Hospital in Soweto.
The Premier would like to assure the people of Gauteng that he is following up on these allegations. The Gauteng Provincial Government is committed to a clean administration. It will not tolerate companies that take tax payers monies and fail to deliver on what they have been contracted to do.
The Jabulani Hospital is one of the government top priority projects. It is important that the construction of this hospital be completed to alleviate pressure from the Chris Hani Hospital and to afford the people of Soweto access to quality healthcare.
