President Thabo Mbeki to visit the Eastern Cape province on a two-day Presidential Izimbizo Programme

President Thabo Mbeki, will this weekend on Saturday, 13 and Sunday, 14 September 2008 respectively, hold a two-day Imbizo at Matatiele and Umzimvubu Local Municipalities, both under Alfred Nzo District Municipality in the Eastern Cape province.
The President will be supported by Cabinet Ministers and the Premier of Eastern Cape province, Mr Mbulelo Sogoni.
The first day will see President Mbeki, his cabinet ministers and the Premier visiting projects and households in Matatiele and interacting with the people of the Umzimvubu Local Municipality during a community Imbizo in the town of Mt Ayliff.
On the second day, the President and his delegation will visit projects and interact with stakeholders during an intergovernmental relations session in Mt Frere.

Day one: Saturday, 13 September 2008
09h30 to 10h30: Door-to-Door visit: Caba/Mdeni Village, Matatiele
The President and delegation visit households in the village.
10h45 to 11h30: Project visit
Madiba Zone Centre in Potseng, Matatiele
The project focuses on the manufacturing of materials to be used in the construction of the VIP (partnership between Department of Public Works (DPW) Expanded Public Works Programme [EPWP], Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF), District Municipality and communities.
