Minister Fraser-Moleketi hosts seventh annual Senior Management Service Conference

Public Service and Administration Minister, Ms Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi is to host the seventh annual Senior Management Service conference.
As the demands for service delivery increases, transformation and poverty relief, public participation in governance, new technology and management techniques bring added responsibilities to senior managers, the Senior Management Service (SMS) conference attempts to provide solutions to these evolving challenges.
Some of the issues the SMS conference will focus on include, learning and comprehensive consultation on performance management, Training and Development and Development Assessment Centres.
The SMS conference is an annual event launched in 2001. Over 400 senior managers from all three spheres of government will be in attendance. The conference includes presentations from international and local experts on key issues and challenges which are relevant to address priority issues of the public service.
This year's Senior Management Service Conference will deliberate on the theme, "Delivering on the people's contract through a seamless public service."
Panel discussions at the conference include:
* understanding the role and commitment of members of the SMS to resourcefully achieve seamless service delivery
* service delivery obligations by sms members
* government wide monitoring and evaluation within a seamless public service: setting performance standards
* the draft public administration and management bill.
Minister Fraser-Moleketi will deliver the keynote address themed, "Strengthening the three spheres of government through a seamless public service" and will launch the Leadership Development Management Strategic Framework at the gala dinner.
