The Department of Social Development to host South to South Workshop on Reproductive Health

The national Department of Social Development in partnership with partners in population development and the Department of health is to host a South to South workshop on access to reproductive health and the achievements of international conference on population and development (ICDP), plan of action (POA) and the Millennium Development Goals. The Deputy Minister Dr Jean Swanson Jacobs will deliver the keynote address.
Partners in Population Development (PPD) aim to strengthen South to South co-operation, capacities, networks and partnerships, and enhance resource availability. It also promotes the integration of HIV and AIDS and reproductive health into plans and programmes. The workshop will be used to conscientise stakeholders on PPD functions and how South Africa can benefit as a member of the organization. Discussions will also focus on access to reproductive health services, family planning, HIV and Aids and capacity building.
