Media invite

The South African Government in partnership with Global Women's Inventors and Innovators Network invite all members of the media to attend Southern African Women Inventors and Innovators Symposium to be held on the 27 to 28 August 2008.
The symposium forms a part of commemoration of the 52nd anniversary of the Women's anti-pass march to the Union Building, Pretoria. This historic march was a turning point in the roles of women in the struggle for freedom and society at large. Women participation in the struggle was also through of the Bantu Women's League and the Zeerust anti-pass campaign.
The symposium will take place as follows:
Date: 27 to 28 August 2008
Time: 08h30 (Wednesday and Thursday)
Venue: Gallagher Estate, Midrand, South Africa
On 29 August 2008, women from the public and private sectors, civil society, from across the continent and the African diasporas, will march to the Union Building, Pretoria to present the petition of the resolution and outcomes of the symposium.
Among the dignitaries and parliamentarian are Deputy President Mrs Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Minister Buyelwa Sonjica, Minister Naledi Pandor, Minister Lulu Xingwana, Tshwane Mayor Dr Gwen Ramakgopa and others.
