Community mobilisation for 2009 learner admission

25 August 2008

The Gauteng Department of Education has dedicated the week of the 25 to 29 August as the Admission Focus Week in which officials will be in the streets of Gauteng distributing information relating to the 2009 learner admission.

Senior managers in the department will join hands with Community Development Workers and local community leaders to encourage parents in Gauteng to take advantage of the learner admission period set since 1 July to 30 September 2008. The blitz at identified hotspots will raise awareness of the importance of early registration. This collaboration is an effort to involve communities in taking charge of the schooling programme and activities.
