A chance to see again

In a quest to reduce the backlogs of cataract surgery, the Gauteng Department of Health will this weekend embark on a drive to restore sight to 40 patients at Sebokeng hospital.
This initiative is undertaken with the Pakistan Community of South Africa and the Islamic Medical Association who assisted the hospital with bringing health workers to assist during the two operating days.
The patients will be admitted at the hospital tomorrow, Friday, 8 August 2008, and operations are due to be conducted on Saturday, 9 and Sunday, 10 August 2008.
There will be a celebration tomorrow before the patients are admitted.
