Tragic death of a learner at Roodepark High School

The Gauteng Department of Education wishes to announce the unfortunate passing of a learner at Roodepark High School. His passing away follows an incident where learners were involved in a fight on Tuesday, 5 August 2008 which resulted in the learner being hospitalised.
Gauteng's MEC for Education, Angie Motshekga has expressed her deepest condolences on the untimely passing.
"It is with deep shock that we learn of the unfortunate passing away of a learner at Roodepark High School who was involved in a stabbing incident with a fellow learner on Tuesday. We send our deepest condolences to the parents, family and the entire community of Roodepark High School," she said.
The matter is still with the police and the Department has since put up mechanisms to provide necessary support to the school and the family of the deceased.
