Launch of the Public Administration Leadership and Management Academy
28 July 2008
The Minister for Public Service and Administration, Minister Geraldine J Fraser-Moleketi, requests the pleasure of your company at the formal launch of the Public Administration Leadership and Management Academy, by Mr TM Mbeki, President of the Republic of South Africa.
The Academy was created through the organisational reconstitution of the South African Management Development Institute over the past year. Its role is to co-ordinate, monitor, and quality-assure the training to be delivered by the participating institutions.
The Academy is located at a new building in the Government Corridor to be named after the late Professor ZK Matthews. This is appropriate given his role as an educator and expert in public administration. It acknowledges his pioneering educational achievements in general and in particular his years of teaching in public administration and law at the University of Fort Hare.
Minister Fraser-Moleketi and Dr Mark Orkin, Director-General of the Academy, will be available for one-on-one media interviews on the day that will be arranged on request. There will also be a photo opportunity with President Mbeki during the proceedings.
Date: Friday, 1 August 2008
Time: 09h30 for 10h00, until 13h00
Venue: Academy Campus, entrance in Greef Street, between Esselen and Schoeman streets, Pretoria
