Zimbabwean political parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding

Harare: In response to media queries, the South African government confirms that the Zimbabwean political parties today, Monday, 21 July in Harare signed a Memorandum of Understanding facilitated by President Thabo Mbeki in his capacity as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Facilitator. The agreement was signed by President Robert Mugabe, Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara.
The South African government reiterates its view that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding indeed represents a positive step forward in the ongoing dialogue among the parties as facilitated by President Mbeki acting on behalf of SADC.
