19 June 2008
The MEC for the Department of Agriculture Gugile Nkwinti will tomorrow, Friday, 20 June 2008, address its key stakeholders and the media about the department's new beefed-up organogram, which was unveiled late last month.
The new organogram has elevated the old organogram from a Head of Department (HOD) headed department to a superintendent-general (SG) headed department, with three new senior posts of Deputy Directors-General (DDGs).
The new organogram has been necessitated by a change in the department strategy, which needs more personnel in order to accomplish the provincial priorities. It has been communicated to all employees of the department and a post-matching would be done in a transparent manner while job evaluations would be done for the new posts.
The department has created of two posts of general managers for infrastructure development and farmer support for the Eastern Segment (former Transkei) and the Western Segment.
The department wants to use 80 percent of the resources in the underdeveloped Eastern Segment and 20 percent in the more developed western segment. Corporate services general manager.
