President T Mbeki officially launches the 100th Thusong Centre in KwaZulu-Natal

3 June 2008

President Thabo Mbeki will on Saturday, 7 June 2008, deliver a keynote address at the official launch of the 100th Thusong Centre at Inhlazuka, Umgungundlovu Local Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal, as part of government commitment to bring services closer to the people.

The Thusong Service Centres are geared to bring government closer to the people and ensure that citizens especially the poor are able to access services close to where they live. The Centres are being rolled out throughout the country, as part of government's pro-poor policy and they offer access to services and information as well as programmes about opportunities from government.
