Northern Cape Premier Dipuo Peters to officiate at the Candlelight Memorial Day

The Premier, Ms Dipuo Peters will join hundreds of people in the 25th Anniversary of the Candlelight Memorial. This occasion is held in memory of all those who lost their lives to HIV and AIDS and those who are living positively with the disease. In her capacity as the Chairperson of the provincial AIDS Council, the Premier will officiate at the occasion.
The Candlelight Memorial is a historic event which started in 1983; it takes place every third Sunday in May. It is also an opportunity to educate our communities about AIDS, advocate for community participation, foster partnerships and community dialogue. The International Candlelight Memorial is one of the oldest grassroots mobilisation campaigns for HIV and AIDS awareness in the world.
