Statement of the Presidency regarding the Southern African Development Community (SADC) facilitator's envoy in Zimbabwe

The Presidency has noted recent media reports which attribute certain statements to some members of the team sent by President Thabo Mbeki to investigate and to help stop incidents of violence as part of the President's SADC-mandated facilitation process.
The Presidency wishes to place it on record that none of the team's members have in the past spoken to members of the media. Neither will they do so in future as this is not their mandate.
