MEC Mhlahlo to host a relay against crime

Eastern Cape MEC for Safety, Liaison, Roads and Transport Mr Thobile Mhlahlo today announced that the Department of Safety and Liaison will host a relay against crime in June 2008.
MEC Mhlahlo made this announcement at the launch of the South African Police Services (SAPS) Eastern Cape Men for Change Programme held at the provincial headquarters in Zwelitsha.
The event which was attended by the Minister of Safety and Security Mr Charles Nqakula and Eastern Cape Premier Nosimo Balindlela, formed part of government's Imbizo Focus Week Programme.
"This relay will start in Port St Johns via Buffalo City to Nelson Mandela Metro where we want men and women, black and white, young and old to participate to promote peace, security and comfort in our society," said MEC Mhlahlo.
