Transport Minister, Jeff Radebe, together with Free State Premier, Beatrice Marshoff and the MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport in the Free State, Seiso Mohai will hold Imbizo in Qwa-Qwa during the Imbizo Week

Free State Province-Bloemfontein: Transport Minister, Jeff Radebe, together with Free State Premier, Beatrice Marshoff and the MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport in the Free State, Seiso Mohai invite all media in the province to an Imbizo to be held in Qwa-Qwa.

The minister, the premier and the national and provincial leadership will engage stakeholders, members of the community and the media on issues of:

* public transport in the province and nationally
* 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup Transport readiness
* progress on the Taxi Recapitalisation Programme and working relations with the industry
* transport infrastructure nationally and provincially
* traffic management and law enforcement
* all issues relating to the citizenry

The entourage and media will visit transport service delivery points to examine and inspect end-user experiences at the Qwa-Qwa Drivers Licence Testing Centre, eNatis operations, the Phuthaditjhaba taxi and bus terminus and Monontsha Road.

The Imbizo forms an interactive programme that enables the people to interact directly with their political representatives from the President, national ministers, premiers, provincial MECs, mayors and local councillors.

The programme profiles Government’s Programme of Action including, among others, local economic development projects, integrated development plans and government development strategies outlining plans on initiatives targeted at poverty and crime eradication and the acceleration of economic growth and development within the context of Apex Priorities outlined in the State of the Nation Address.

The principals will be reporting on and communicating progress made towards the speedy, efficient and effective implementation of development projects aimed at changing peoples’ lives for the better.
