MEC for Agriculture, Mme Dikeledi Magadzi will visit Lephalale Municipality during the Imbizo week

Departmental Imbizo and Lephalale farm worker of the year award ceremony

The MEC for Agriculture, Mme Dikeledi Magadzi, will visit Lephalale Municipality in Waterberg District as part of the Government’s Imbizo focus week programme, which is running from 7 to 15 April 2008. She will convene an Imbizo which will serve as a direct interaction between government leaders and ordinary citizens including farmers and farm-workers. Ordinary citizens will be raising issues with government, and in turn; the Government’s Programme of Action will be communicated to the public.

The following departments and government entities will be available to render services to the people, the Lephalale and Waterberg Municipalities, departments of Labour and Home Affairs and South African Social Security Agency (SASSA).

The Imbizo will be held as follows:

Date: 10 April 2008
Venue: Ga-Shongoane 3 Sports Ground
Time: 10h00

The Imbizo will be followed by the Lephalale Farm Workers of the Year Awards which is a departmental collaboration with organised agriculture namely Agri SA., Transvaal Landbou-unie(TLU) and National African Farmers Union(NAFU), to recognise the valuable and important contribution made by farm workers towards the growth and sustainability of the industry. The winner will receive a cash prize of R5 000,00.

The awards ceremony will be held at Lephalale Town, Mogol Hall - opposite municipal civic centre at 18h00.
