Presidential pardons application forms now available at all courts

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development would like to announce that the process of applying for Presidential Pardons began on 15 January 2008 and is now under way.
All qualifying persons wishing to apply for pardons are informed that application forms, which spell out the terms for qualification, are now available at all the courts, correctional facilities such as prisons, Department of Justice and Constitutional Development Regional Offices, and on the websites of the department (http://www.doj.gov.za) and government (http://www.gov.za).
Interested individuals and parties are urged to submit their forms as soon as possible as the closing date for submissions is on 15 April 2008.
It must be remembered that only those who were convicted and sentenced solely on account of allegedly having committed politically motivated offences before 16 June 1999 will be considered.
