Gauteng Government embarks on Imbizo Focus Week
17 October 2007
As part of national Imbizo Focus Week, taking place from Monday, 22 October to Sunday, 28 October, Gauteng will embark on a range of activities until the end of the month for communities to interact directly with government leaders. The week will focus on strengthening partnerships and extending platforms for communities to access programmes of government aimed at reducing poverty and building partnerships to create for a better life for all.
The Gauteng Imbizo gives provincial and local government leaders an opportunity to hear residents' concerns and suggestions as well as to expand on government's plans to develop their areas and the province as a whole. Direct dialogue and feedback from communities enables government to streamline service delivery aimed at improving people's lives. The 2007 Imbizo Focus Week is held under theme 'Social Mobilisation for Growth and Development'.
