President Thabo Mbeki addresses Youth Day Commemoration

The President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Thabo Mbeki, will deliver a keynote address at a Youth Day celebration in commemoration of the 31st Anniversary of the 16 June 1976 Student Uprisings.

This is a flagship event of the month-long youth development calendar which is aimed at highlighting challenges facing the youth and development opportunities.

The event will be held as follows:

Venue: ABSA Stadium, Buffalo City Municipality, Eastern Cape
Date: Saturday, 16 June 2007
Time: 09h00

Among those expected to attend are the Minister in the Presidency, Dr Essop Pahad, Eastern Cape Premier, Ms Nosimo Balindlela and the Chairperson of the National Youth Commission, Ms Nomi Nkondlo.

Accreditation for all members of the media will be done at the East London Town Hall, Oxford Street, on Friday, 15 June at 13h00.
