President Mbeki launches New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) e-Schools

The President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Thabo Mbeki will launch the NEPAD e-Schools Demonstration Project on 17 April 2007.
The President will lead a delegation consisting of Deputy Ministers of Communications and Education respectively, the Premier of Mpumalanga and senior government officials. Other members of the delegation will include NEPAD and African Union (AU) senior officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps as well as members of the private sector.
The details of the launch are as follows:

Venue: Maripe Secondary School, Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga province
The launch will cover six schools across the country, making South Africa the seventh country to launch the project after Uganda, Ghana, Lesotho, Kenya, Rwanda, and Egypt. The initiative is a joint venture between the South African Government, HP Consortium, Cisco Consortium, ORACLE Consortium, and NEPAD e-Africa Commission.
