Launch of the restitution’s annual report for 2005/06

The Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Land Affairs, Advocate Dirk du Toit cordially invites the media to the launch of Land Claims Commission's Annual Report 2005/06.
Amongst other things, the report highlights the successes and challenges of land reform. Restitution is one of the rights-based land reform programmes that is contributing to socio-economic development, and thus to meeting the priorities of the Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative of South Africa (AsgiSA).
The restitution programme contributes to the national plan of action to build and entrench a culture of human rights for the enjoyment of all. Dignitaries expected to attend the launch are the Northern Cape Premier, D Peters, Provincial MECs, the Mayor and other role players in government.
