Funeral arrangements of the late Minister for Public Works Miss Stella Nomzamo Sigcau

The Presidency wishes to announce that the late Minister Stella Sigcau will be accorded an official funeral.

Accordingly, a national period of mourning is declared with effect from the morning of Tuesday, 9 May 2006, until the day of the funeral and the national flag shall be flown at half mast at all government buildings and establishments until the evening of the burial.

Books of condolences will with effect from Tuesday, 9 May 2006, be opened at the Union Buildings in Tshwane and Tuynhuys in Cape Town.

In terms of existing regulations the office of the Director-General in The Presidency will be charged with the organising, planning and execution of all funeral arrangements.

To this extent the relevant funeral planning committee is being convened and will inter alia initiate consultations with the family of the deceased to make the necessary arrangements with regard to the date and place for the funeral.
