Minister Sisulu to sign a MoU with DRC and hosts AMCHUD Secretariat meeting 23 - 24 Feb 2006, Sun City, South Africa

The national Housing Minister Lindiwe Sisulu will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with her Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) counterpart John Tibasima in a joint partnership aimed at various housing projects participation in the DRC.

Tibasima is in South Africa to study the South African government administration, administration of housing, role of various spheres, financing and planning of human settlements, policy making and statutes.

At 14:30 Minister Sisulu will meet the African Ministerial Conference in Housing and Urban Development (AMCHUD) Secretariat

The meeting will consist of the following Ministers:

(i) Mr Mohamed Nadir Hamimid: Minister of Housing and Town planning (Algeria),
(ii) Mr Assane Diagne: Ministre de l'Urbanisme et de l'Amenagement du Territoire (Senegal),
(iii) Mr Peter Soita Shitanda: Minister for Housing and AMCHUD Bureau Rapporteur (Kenya),
(iv) Dr Chene Adoum: Minister of the Regional Planning, Urbanism and Habitat (Chad), and
(v) Mr Hackman Owusu Agyeman: Minister of Works and Housing (Ghana) and
(vi) Dr Lindiwe Sisulu: Minister of Housing (South Africa).

Among other matters to be discussed are the upcoming AMCHUD Special Conference and Special High Level Meeting from 3 to 5 April 2006 in Nairobi, Kenya and the progress made since the last AMCHUD held in Durban, South Africa.
