North West Provincial Cabinet holds Lekgotla
29 January 2006
The North West Executive Council (EXCO) is to hold a two-day Lekgotla in Mafikeng from Tuesday to Wednesday, 31 January to 1 February 2006.
The main objective of the EXCO Lekgotla is:
* To assess the performance and achievements of the provincial government during 2005\06
* To develop the delivery programme of the provincial government for 2006\07
* To identify critical challenges and strategic choices for the future
EXCO Lekgotla takes place a few days after the Cabinet Lekgotla. According to North West Premier Edna Molewa, EXCO will ensure that its deliberations and points of departure are informed by the resolutions of the Cabinet lekgotla.
The Lekgotla, which will be attended by MECs, Mayors, senior public servants and Heads of parastatals, will deliberate on ways of accelerating the effective implementation of the provincial growth and development strategy and strengthening government’s capacity to speed up the provision of services and infrastructure.
EXCO will review the extent to which government’s Programme of Action (PoA) was implemented last year and then agree on critical policy and delivery areas that need priority focus.
